Movies Galore

Our neighbor came back from Beijing with loads of pirated movies, and quite a few of them ACTUALLY at DVD quality. And I just came back from LA where I ripped about 13 movies from Mike. So right now, it's movie-ripping galore in my house, and the good ones too =)

El-Ay

So the weekend is OVAH! Party-hardied a little, chilled out with my mom, watched some Scrubs and The Office. It was a good time.
ALSO, I have a new Macbook baby. It's amazing!!

I'll post some pictures of the weekend soon.

Los Angloless

So I'm in LA for the weekend, and it feels nice. Of course at least 50% of that could be do to the fact that I now own a brand new MacBook, and it kicks ass.

Tomorrow (Saturday) everyone is coming over... Kristen, Darin, Rob, Kyle, Paul, and Mike. We're gonna chill, eat some fine-ass BBQ, have a few (shit-tons) drinks, and laugh about the old days.

I'll post pictures in a few days.

Stupid People

I was walking home from the MUNI today, just out of school, and there's a guy that needs help pushing his car to the next corner because he's out of gas. He politely asks for assistance, so I gladly give it. If we would have been anywhere else, I wouldn't have given it a second thought, but the fact that we were on a 45 degree incline DOWNHILL I wondered, "why doesn't he just put the car in neutral and let it roll down?"
So naturally I ask him this, and he says, "well, I can't, the shifter won't move unless I turn on the car... should I turn it on?"
Before I have a chance to answer, HE TURNS ON the car and puts it in neutral and then HE TURNS IT OFF... the car that was OUT OF GAS!

So then he's very slowly stepping off the brakes, and he's like, "it's hard to control." Yeah, no shit, you have no power steering while the car is off!!

He then proceeds to roll downhill and turn left onto a one lane bike lane in between the sidewalk and an island, so there's only room for one car, he then looses momentum, stops, and blocks the lane.... I shook my head and kept walking home.

Bad Fucking Luck

Yeah, I did... I broke a fucking mirror the day before school starts... WTF!!??
It was leaning against my dresser, and I bumped it... it just slid down, and shattered.

Evidence:

Walk Up To Lombard

Went for an extremely long walk today, ALL THE WAY TO LOMBARD STREET and BACK! Yes, and most of it uphill....
My legs hurt, and I'm about to have a couple of cold ones to relax. School starts tomorrow... LAME! But I'm ready for it all.

Anyway, for those of you outside the city, enjoy these shots:

YES!

I am now the proud owner of a brand new white Macbook!

The only thing that sucks is that I had it shipped to LA since I'll be there this weekend, and I wasn't sure if it would get here by then. Now that I got the tracking number, it says it's gonna be delivered tomorrow... =(
I guess I don't get to play with it till the weekend.

Oh well, I'm as happy as a pig in shit!

Again... It's All Finished

So it is now 12:15am (for me) and I'm not going to bed because I have to be up by 3. My flight is at 9am, but it's from London city, so to get there it will be quite a trek... and from there I have to fly to Munich, Germany, and from there straight to San Francisco. I'm flying Lufthansa though, and I heard that they give you free booze on the plane. If that's true, the flights will go by very quickly!

Was this trip what I was expecting? most definitely! I had a GREAT time! And I can now scratch one thing from my "things to do before I die" list... which you will see pictures of once I get home and post them.
I hope to make it back to this side of the world sooner rather than later.
Take care everyone... from the UK and Europe... I love you.

Buda Buda

So my days have been pretty mellow lately. A lot of just renting movies, chillin at home, a few walks around the city. Nothing big. We went to the Zoo the other day, which was AWESOME! I hadn't seen a girraf (sp?) since Argentina times...

Anyway, I wish I could post some pictures for yall, but right now it's a little hard. I'll write back soon.

Pees.

Jet Lag

So I've been here for like a week now, and for some reason I still need like 15 hours of sleep a day. I don't get it. I sleep about 7 hours at night, then by noon I'm super tired so I take like a 2 or 3 hour nap, and then by 8 I'm exhausted again... what's wrong with me??

Anyway, today should be pretty chill. I have to go return a movie, and rent another cause Lilla is going to school for a few hours to take an exam. So I'll probably get myself a movie or two, buy myself some delish pastries, and veg out all day... I'm sure a few sessions of Sudoku will also take place.
Later today, we're going ice skating... out doors for once, and perhaps catch a movie.

It's kinda funny, I'm in Budapest and I'm not really doing much. Just chillin all day. I don't really feel that bad though since I've seen it already...

I wanna get drunk again.

Euro-Madness

Chillin in Budapest... literally, it's fucking freezing. I'm having an amazing time though! It honestly feels weird, cause being back here and in London it felt like I never left... it felt weird that it didn't feel weird to be there.

New year's was great, we went out to a huge night club and drank the night away with champagne. I'll post pictures as soon as technology permits.

I had this feeling when I was back in London. I was thinking that the world seems to get smaller the more you travel to the same places, no matter how far they are... if you catch my drift. I mean, if you go back to lets say London, like me, a few times, and you have all these friends there, it's sort of second nature, and it feels like you can go whenever you want. But then the world seems to get BIGGER when you go to NEW places. I mean, if I was in Papua New Guinea right now, I sure as hell wouldn't fell close to home. I don't know, maybe that sounds stupid...

Well, gotta go. I need to return some DVDs and buy myself some pastries.

Brain Farts

Yes, I had one... I came back home and thought that I packed everything. What did I forget? My camera, of course. I get to see my best friends like once every 4 months, and now that I'm here, I don't have my camera... I win at life.

Resurfaced Obsession: Photoshop

I've rediscovered Photoshop... again. I go through these phases with Photoshop and end up finguring out how to do some neat things, then I drop it, forget everything, and have to relearn it all a year later... I did worked on these photos yesterday and today that I took a while back, check it:

Speak-Easy

So last night with my roommates and neighbors we went to a bar called Bourbon and Branch, an old speak-easy bar from the prohibition times. It's a SUPER classy bar that is SUPER expensive. You have to make reservations and have a password to get in.... and when you sit down they give you a menu with only drinks.

There were so many that I had never heard of, that I just picked something that I hadn't tried, and that no one else in my group picked cause we all wanted to try something different....
When we were all ordering, one of the girls ordered a Blood and Sand, which is what I wanted... so I quickly thought of something else to order... the first thing that came to mind was something that I had just read in the menu... Johnny Walker. The waitress asked me if I wanted Black, Gold, or Blue, and how I wanted it... I just said "blue, straight up please."

Once the drinks were brought to us, I was pretty shocked to find out that mine was basically a shot. I had never ordered Johnny Walker before, so I had no idea... I also had no idea that the label I just ordered, blue, was the most expensive at $28.... The single most expensive shot, and drink, I have ever ordered.

My tab was $45 for 3 drinks. It should have been a little more than that, probably around the $55 range, but we all just split the bill evenly.

over and out (of ca$h)

Update V1.6

I bought a $25 t-shirt with Mothra on it, and it says in big font "ATTACK!"... the coolest thing about it is that it's 3D, and it comes with 3D glasses... you know, like the ones that you go see movies with? yeah, it pretty much rocks anyone's socks off.

I've been typing away at all these papers I have due this week... finally some progress. The most important one for my media research class, I didn't put that much effort in it. I hate writing reasearch papers. Sad thing is I picked the topic on what to write about...

ALSO, only 20 days till I'm OUT of this country for a few weeks... just the break I need if you ask me. These past 2 months have been filled with drama fo' yo' mama... most of my own doing of course.
Oh, and I saw a video of a kitten on LSD... pretty disturbing...

OOOHHH!!! and I saw THIS movie last night:

This Gets To Me

I HATE library catalogs... I HATE THEM. Especially school library catalogs that have multiple databases. They are the most confusing thing to have ever been created. It's like you need a fucking master's degree in library studies just to be able to browse them and find out what they have. FDJLKH(IU*#*!!!!!

I'm writing this long ass essay right now. I only have 4 sources, and I need at least 10. It's due on Tuesday... how tha hell am I gonna find 6 sources in such little time!!??

Swamped

Yes, SWAMPED with school work for the next two weeks. I'm not even gonna begin to tell you all the projects and exams that I have...

So I am officially less than a month away from going back to London, and best of all to Budapest. Can I get a hellz yeah up in this mug??
My Hungarian is also sorta coming along, the only thing that sucks is that I have so much school work that I can't devote too much time to the Hungarian. But here it goes:
Sajnos csak egy kicsit tudok magyarul.

Aside from all that, I'm trying to get into the habit of eating more home-made sushi... we've been buying all the ingredients the past couple of weeks and making it ourselves, and we've become quite the pros if I may say so myself.
Over and out.

The Fountain

I just got back from seeing The Fountain... All I have to say is... WOW. I LOVED this movie. First of all, one of the most visually stunning movies I've seen in a very long time.

Basically the story is about 1 man trying to find a cure to a cancer that is killing the love of his life, and it takes place throughout 1000 years. In 1500 during the spanish inquisition, during modern times, and in 2500. Honestly, do yourself a favor, and see this movie in the theatres.

I WILL warn you, however, that feelings about this movie seem to be evenly split. It was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and it got a standing ovation, as well as booing. Me and Ashleigh loved it, but Abe hated it...
